About Cub Scouting
Cub Scouts is a program designed for elementary school aged boys as a lead up to Boy Scouts. Our focus is on building our youth into the leaders of tomorrow by teaching them about civics, community service, and personal responsibility through engaging activities. In other words, we help them grow up by doing fun stuff.
What are the requirements for becoming a Cub Scout?
Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join Boy Scouts.
Most of our meetings are involved with boys of the same grade level working on age appropriate tasks, but once a month we will have a meeting where everyone will work together on teamwork activities, get the awards they have earned, and occasionally have a big party
We also try to have a big activity every month, outside of our regular meeting times. Some of the more notable activities we do are:
- Ice Skating
- Winter Swim!
- Haunted Trail
- Spring Camp Out Weekend at Racccon State Park
- Summer Camp (we’re working on it!)
- Lock In!
